I was in exactly the same position as you; already had a perfectly good Zumo, and couldn't justify the price of a Nav V or VI just for the WonderWheel. Originally I had mine on a RAM mount on the clutch lever. That was Ok. Then I bought a Hornig mount which puts the sat-nav above the bike clocks. Perfect. Cheers Paul B. |

Once you get accustomed to using it, the "Wonder-Wheel" is a very handy device. I'll admit that I seldom use it around town, but its' brilliant on tour. Apparently some CANBUS-friendly devices extend the wheel's utility even more. It's certainly superb for navigating my NAV5.

I use the WW occasionally around town when wanting to look at the read-out screen on the Nav6 and then switch back to the map view, primarily for GPS display of my speed and rarely because I need a map to get around town. When touring, using the WW to zoom in/out of the map is often helpful, especially when using route guidance so turns don’t sneak up on you. I also use the WW to adjust the LEDs on the Clearwater aux lights and Billy brake light. I actually do this more often then I thought I would for the aux lights, initially just set it once and forget it. But drivers around town are more sensitive to the brightness of the aux LEDs than those on highways. So I use the WW to adjust the brightness accordingly.
