Here is an actual recent court judgement that will have you scratching your head.

Car insurer Geico may have to pay $5m after woman contracts STI in a vehicle.
A woman may be in for a $5.2m (£4.2m) payout after she allegedly contracted a sexually transmitted infection while having sex in a car.
The US woman, identified in court files as 'MO', said she caught the human papillomavirus (HPV) from having sex with her then-partner in his car.
This week, the Missouri Court of Appeals upheld a judgment that awarded MO a hefty settlement - to be paid by Geico, which insured the vehicle.
Geico is contesting the decision.

Embarrassed to say, in spite of - or perhaps because of - a Republican/Trumpian bent to the state, juries here cannot follow a line of reason, and support irrationality at every turn.
Appellate court judges are elected - and there are more unreasonable citizens and lawyers out to win the lottery through frivolous lawsuits than there are insurance company executives.

Oh wait - this is the joke thread.

Having listened to rural county seat lawyers explain the dangers of single-lane traffic circles, the logic of MO's argument is obvious and sound.

The owner of the car was involved in a collision while driving the car and MO is filing a claim....

In America, any human interaction is an opportunity for litigation. Thus, most politicians are either lawyers or realtors and America is the land of opportunity...
