Update! I just learned that a blue 1250RS and a black 1250RS will be arriving at my dealer on Saturday July 27. I plan to be there to have a look. I expect to buy one unless something disappoints me, which I don't expect. |

I think the first bikes shipped will all be high spec but that will be because extra packs have been added at build by BMW

I stopped by my BMW dealer and they didn't have any R/RS or even GS 1250 models left. The place looked like it was cleaned out. The salesman told me that they sold a bunch of bikes last week. But only the 1250 GS and RT models have hit their shop so far, no R or RS yet. One fellow even traded in his 2018 R1200GS, which had just had a full service and new tires, for a new 1250GS. So it looks like BMW has a winner with the 1250 models. Hopefully that shift cam hangs in there as the miles pile up.

I agree that it sounds like the 1250s are flying out of the dealers. For me the only upgrade would be the dash, as I am completely happy with every other aspect of the bike, except the windshield positions. If the 1250s came with an electronic windshield adjustment, then maybe I would consider. Im just too in love with my 1200 to reconsider, I guess.
