General topics » Anyone have a GS911 or equivalent in the NW of England?

I did my own service a while ago and arranged for my local bike workshop to reset my service interval. Having taken it in they told me that their software needs updating and that doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon.

I’m in Kendal and wonder if anyone reasonably close by has the equipment to do this?

In the past I've seen people advertising the use of their GS911 for a fee on ebay - might be worth a look to see if there's anyone local doing this?

Membership of the BMW Club (UK) at £30 per year gets you to access to a variety of specialty loan tools. I believe they have a GS911 but could not confirm whether it is compatible with the RS. A monthly magazine and discounts from a variety of suppliers are also included.

yes it is, I was told that they have the 10 pin round connectors version and the adapter cable to fit the 16 pin OBDII models as well

I was over Sheffield way on the bike yesterday and called into Rainbow Workshop. Steve did the job in 10 minutes, I was offered tea and biscuits and caught up with an old friend ('Johnnyboxer' if you know the man). So a result.

I was also shown around a lovely R100RS/Steib combo

My question is this - can one delete the VINs, say, to "make room" for others? In other words, what happens if you hit 10 and the 11th bike needs work ... can you delete one of the VINs and set up the tool for the 11th bike?

These GS-911s have a fixed number oif VINs that can be used with the tool - I believe 10 for the enthusiast model of GS-911. I would assume that it is possible but having never done this am not sure.
