She then rode it for a year or so before it was written off in an accident, and now she's on an S1000R. I always thought the F800 was a vastly underrated bike.

Trust me. I was fortunate enough (unfortunate enough?) to trade in my 2010 F8ST for a 2013 F8GT and then finally to the 2016 RS. For each of the F8 transactions the dealer began each conversation with "we don't want your bike." The value discussion then went pleasantly downhill from there. However, I still managed to walk out of the dealership with a new bike each time, sufficiently lighter in the wallet, but somehow strangely satisfied. |

I wish all new 1250RS owners every joy on their new bikes, that said I’m still in love with my 1200RS in Lupin Blue. Generally we see minor upgrades and new paint schemes after a couple of years into a new model - so I’m holding out until either mine starts causing me problems or a next generation 1250RS shows up in colours I just cant resist ! |

Still not at my dealer. I asked about the R1250R and R1250RS today and was told they expected to have a up-spec R1250R arrive in about two weeks. They have not heard anything about an RS showing up any time soon.

I was wondering if they were going to re-calibrate the 1250 to be able to use 87 octane (US R+M/2) like my 2018 1200 GS is able to use. The 2020 1250RS owner's manual still has a recommendation to use premium fuel but it also states that 87 is an alternative fuel. On the 2018 R1200RS in order to use 87 oct you needed a different calibration from the dealer. Looks like that is no longer required. Actually 87 octane is the most prevalent fuel in the US. Most US vehicles can run it. Every motorcycle I have can except for the R1200RS I just bought. All the newer Triumph's I have and my '18 R1200GS also can use it. Biggest benefit is that it is much cheaper in cost than premium (91 R+M/2). Just about all 87 is E10 fuel and in my area you can buy 91 either E10 or E0. |

My 2009 F650GS, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 and (of course) the 2011 Royal Enfield all use 87 octane, per their owner's manuals. My 2009 Triumph uses 89 octane.
