Visited the Intermot in Cologne today and was told today by BMW staff the 1250 RS will arrive in March 2019. By then all the reviews of the RT and GS will be out, so we will know how good the new engine really is. Only questions will be if the tuning on the R and RS will be different again to the RT and GS and if the dashboard will be "upgraded" to the TFT one... All electronics etc will probably be the same as on the RT. |

I sold my 2016 RS a few months back. I put 30,000 mostly trouble-free miles on the bike but got really tried of the terribly clunky and at times, hard to shift gearbox which nearly everyone with a 2017+ says is much better. And the display, like many of you I absolutely hated it. BUT the bike was a gem underway. Fast, responsive and fun. At 5'8" and 150 lbs, the bike fit me like a glove. |

I’ll likely be in the market for the 1250RS. I’ve had 40k very enjoyable and trouble free miles on my ‘16. The early reports of seamless cam transition on the new motor are encouraging, but I take that with a grain of salt at this point until I hear from actual riders or at least more in depth tests. What, if any, other changes they incorporate will be interesting. |

Zitat von Lee im Beitrag #114 The RT is a completely different animal. The entire instrument panel is integrated and would require a major redesign. BMW has several already-designed TFT displays for the GS line that can be slapped onto the RS (and the R) with only minor reprogramming.

My recollection is that the TFT display will be offered on the new F750/850GS models - as an extra cost factory-installed option, of course.

I can't think of any reason why BMW couldn't offer the TFT display on the R and RS models, but with those guys you just never know why they do things the way that they do.
