My 2016 1200RS is booked in with BMW on the recall for shaft inspection and I believe installation on the drain valve. |

On my 2016 at 56,000 miles I had the shop check and lube the splines and I was charged one hour labor.

I'm often on long trips and sometimes end up riding through a heavy rain storm. I believe this is when the moisture is getting in and over time causing rust. I take mine apart once or twice a year depending on what i have gone though for a clean up and re-lube. I'm retired so I have lots of time on my hands. If you haven't been riding through a heavy rain storm your probably OK. If you have, then its worth a look. |
