Hopefully the site will be renewed as it been a useful and interesting place since I discovered it a couple of years ago.
Just as a matter of interest has anyone tried to contact Holger to get his thoughts on the sites future, it maybe he is just too busy as an architect to keep up with what’s happening around him? Just a thought

Forum scraped, aside from those sub-forums excluded as per the other post. Uncompressed it's a 6.4G archive, including the attached photos. I'll update it again each day to catch the latest posts.
If we can ever figure out what to do with it, it's ready to go.

I am not opposed to hosting material, but not a data dump. Only posts that have actual content that a person looking for information on the RS would want to invest the time to read, e.g. DIY articles, posts / articles about little known features and how to use them, posts / articles about problems / issues and how to fix them, etc. After all that was the impetus for the creation of RSWasserboxer.com and the Forum Community. So any new stuff would have to fit that vision.

I absolutely agree. It'll likely be relatively simple to make the bot crawl the extracted archive and create new posts with the material, but the curation of that archive will need to be done by a site administrator.. namely you, and also in conjunction with the community to determine what info is worth retaining and hosting. And there's the difficult bit!

Anyone got any better ideas on how to present and curate the archive?

Well, if today is to be the last day I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the guy(s) that set this forum up in the first place.

I've enjoyed being here, learnt much, the whole user experience has been great and the layout has become very familiar to me over the years, but of course it's the members that make it what it is/was. Hopefully we'll all be together again round at Grumpy Goat's gaff.
