I would not be happy with a September delivery.
I would hate to pay full price for a 2019, then have the 2020 show up on the floor in October or November.

He said, whenever i want to ride a Bike, i can call him and i will get one.

We never had a exact Date of Delivery !!

In case of Emergancy i get the VFR800 from my Girlfriend

Therefore, everything is fine for me

I'm going to ring BMW in Germany to say as your not in a hurry for your bike can they deliver mine in front of yours

Maybe the workers in the plant in Berlin have a degree of taste and are stringing production out until they have 2020 options and the hope of a half decent colour selection

I heard from my dealer that the 1250 will be "limited production" this year. Same deal for the "new" RR. If I had to guess, I think two things may be at work here: (1) BMW is aware that a global recession is a possibility in 2019 and does not want a lot of unsold bikes in inventory if discretionary spending goes in the tank, and (2) the model year "2020" is sure to get some extra hype from the "2020" moniker, with added features/colors. The 2019 model year might be considered a "beta test" for these bikes, perhaps...

I'm thinking a "wait and see" approach may be in order.

Come on. Get a grip!!! If you are on this forum, chances are pretty high you already have the existing RS. Why fill yourself with anxiety to have the latest (and not yet built) model?

If the 1250 "smokes" the 1200 - blows it away over the 1/4 mile, cuts the braking distance by 30%, weighs 20 kg less and gets a 20% improvement in fuel consumption with better lights, better instruments I can understand the urgency.

However, apart from the reasonable expectations of lights and instruments, I can't see there will be a marked improvement.

Maybe when I turn 70 I will think about it. That is 18 months away.

Until then, the Best Motorcycle I have EVER owned is fine with me.

There really isn't a marked improvement. You make an excellent point. It's the reason I told my dealer (after telling him a year ago I wanted the new RR with all its expected "improvements") that I no longer want one...it's an incremental improvement, but appears to be a bike without a soul any more.

Are there new '18 RS bikes to be found?

I want a black one with all the options, and I want it now!

The bike is probably about 70% identical to the GS, so what is the problem with putting it into production? Compared to the previous model RS it just needs a different nose panel and lights, and possibly end can, plus the new GS bits. Any other parts that differ from the GS are already available as they are identical to the previous model RS.

My 2015 has already got 20hp that I don't use, not much point adding another 10. I'd want something more than a bit of extra oomph!

There is only one plant producing the 1250, and most other BMW bikes, it is in Berlin. They will have switched over all 1200 LC production lines to the 1250 now, the LC is no longer made. But I can imagine they will be producing GS, GSA and RT first, because these are much more popular and outsell the RS and R by a big margin. So they want to fulfill all those orders first I guess, and iron out any bugs or production problems with the 1250 engine.

As said by others, why want a 1250 when the 1200 is already almost perfect? Personally I don't mind waiting for the 2020 model, hopefully improved, reliable and available with other colors than the current ones!
