It is a possibility... I ll have more info on Monday.
If that's the case I ll be asking for my down-payment refunded. Not buying a 2019 bike which is delivered same time as the 2020 bikes are announced.
Or probably BMW Hellas is reserving all the factory slots for GS models which is what they primarily sell in Greece.
Again it would help if anyone could confirm RS deliveries are as originally advertised in other EU countries.

In Sydney (Hornsby) I asked about 2 weeks ago and they said March/April for the RS with initial deliveries likely consumed by pre-orders. I also enquired about the S1000RR and they said this was scheduled for May, but they said the rumour mill was expecting the RR to be delayed beyond this. But all that was 2 weeks ago.

That is interesting. When I pre-ordered a new (at the time) 2009 F650GS from my dealership in California in January 2008, the bike left the factory in June of that year (the first to be manufactured to U.S. DOT requirements). The bike then arrived at the BMWNA warehouse in July, where it stayed until September, apparently waiting until enough of the new model could arrive in NA so that every dealer would receive at least two, one of which would be a demo. Since my bike had arrived in the first batch, it was apparently placed in the back of the warehouse and when the bikes were shipped out to the dealers, my very-early order was one of the last ones to leave and arrived at my dealership two weeks after the showroom showoff models. That was when I learned that special ordering very-early a new model might not result in its very-early arrival.

One of the dealerships here said Feb-March 2019 at the latest. They had GSs and GSAs on the floor and sold a few already. Apparently they are not sticking around and may put some downward pressure on the price of the 1200 GS/GSA stock that they do have, and they have a good few. They also have 2 RTs in stock on the floor, being new arrivals. Look the same as the 1200s to me, except for the valve covers of course.

Hi

Ordered the RS 2 Days ago in Germany.
I want the RS in 05/19 and My Dealer said, that April also should be no Problem.
BMW Info to him is Delivery appr. 1st quarter of 2019 (also to see at the German BMW-Homepage)

I've ordered one - black with all three optional packages plus rear luggage rack. The 1250 is not on dealer's system yet so they entered it as R1200RS, but assured me it will be the 1250! No date yet but they think it should be available by March.

That's bazaar, I offered my bike to my dealer and he said he didn't want it until march, no room for spare bikes, maybe it will damage sales on existing secondhand for sale in showroom ?

a bit like a deposit - at risk. Customers are always at the bottom of the pile of creditors if a company goes bust. BMW will just walk away saying not their problem.

I would not do a deal where I gave someone a bike I owned and had to wait several months for completion. Of course, if the bike is on PCP finance and the bike is handed back instead of having to make a balloon payment then that is a different situation that makes sense.

I'm in the same situation - I've paid a £500 deposit on the new bike, and agreed to take my old bike to them after the holiday and leave it on their premises, but will not transfer ownership of it until they find a buyer otherwise I would be an unsecured creditor and lose the value of my trade-in as well as the £500 deposit should the business go under. I paid the £500 deposit by credit card so should be protected and get that back should the RS not materialise!

If they find a buyer for my old bike before my RS is available I will only transfer ownership if the agreed trade-in value is transferred to my bank account first. If the dealer goes under before they sell my old bike, then the bike will still be my property and I should get it back from the bankruptcy administrator, though there would probably be some delay, but I will risk that. If the RS arrives before they sell my bike, then no problem I will just transfer ownership of my old bike and pay the outstanding balance to complete the deal.
