I'm seeing that gray color (or variations on it) on a lot of new cars these days. It's quite unattractive, yet people are buying them. Perhaps it's catering to the color-blind crowd? As in, "See whatever color you want with our new vision bias-free gray!"

I'm in the crowd that does like the look of the 'matt grey' as we call it. Would get a car in it if it were available but its optional across VAG group models so I went with graphite grey.
On the bikes it does need some accent points, I'm thinking matt grey RS with alpine white frame - maybe some stickers to pop the panels.

Personally I stay away from anything black on black on black with piano black...
