I like to go to this battery supplier to find out what batteries are available for each model motorcycle that you might own. Here is the product page for the R1200R/RS battery selection:

It is working perfectly and the bike's charging system is keeping it charged to close to 14V when checked after I ride home. I also invested in an Optimate lithium battery maintainer, which I plug in after each ride. However it only charges for a few minutes before shutting down and going into "test" mode, so I am not so sure that it is doing all that much.

). At the same time, tidied up the wiring by taking the fused connections for the Opitmate charger and auxilary lights off the 'jump starting post' and direct to +.

Yep, slotted straight in - didn't bother to refit the foam wrap around, left out the packing piece. Still enough space for the two inline fuses (lights and Optimate) to sit confortably on top. As mentioned before, I think this battery was the original design specifcation and cost control lead to reduced provision, (and perhaps why a jump strarting post is included). |

In Oz, these days, you just don't find "Australian made" items. We have become a country of importers, with everything being sourced from China and to a smaller extent, many smaller South East Asian countries.
