just finished work, cold outside sitting a bit bored with chocolate so what to do, Facebook had a question about offers for Metzlers tyres so google to fine the answer.

found their website and then thought lets check out what Metzlers think are the right tyres for the 1250RS. Set BMW as the maker, R1250RS as the bike and pushed the button

so surprised by the result, F all are suitable for the 1250RS, wonder why BMW have put the Z8s on both the 1200 and 1250.

As always, things can differ per country. Here's the result of the Dutch Metzeler website:

Roadtec 01 or Z8 for the R1200RS and no tyres available for the R1250RS, although I really do have the Z8's on my bike. Weird

Well, next renewal I'll have the Dunlop Roadsmart III mounted again. Apart from proper grip in dry and wet situations, these tyres don't loose their fine steering capabilities after 5K of wear like the Metzelers or even the Pirelli Angel.

I got nearly 8000 miles from my Metzler Z8 rear last year. The last few hundred miles on them started feeling a bit square-edged, but I was pleased enough to buy another set. Definitely better tires than the Metzler bias-ply offerings that I've used on my Triumph and Moto Guzzi. Still, I might have to try the Roadsmarts next time...by every account, they are a superb value.

Have nothing but love for Metzler Roadtech 01's (on R1200).

When they die, Ill get another pair.

My 1200RS came with PR4's as OE fitment but never liked the way they dealt with road irregularities (joining seams and uneven surfaces) when worn so second set was Z01's and so far all good but need to get some more miles on them.

It has been a bit dull lately tbh. Soon be Spring, things should liven up a bit once we get some better weather.
