That's interesting. I think I placed my order before you and the paperwork said approx delivery date was 12th March. I've not checked back with the dealer since then though, so it may have come forward a bit.

Mine was purchased to stock by the dealer and was already on the way when i bought it (so i'm told), so it could be here now, but i don't want it registered till 1st March.

I do not think there is any hard evidence that RS production was halted for that reason. As stated higher up the thread, there could be a number of reasons from parts supply of a unique RS part, a technical or approval problem. Perhaps the works council has refused to assemble the bikes as the colours were making the workers unwell?

Saw the 1250 RS in real life today at the Dutch bike show, and wasn't disappointed.

The one shown was in my preferred blue color and even the front wasn't too "Japanese" imho. I like the decal and striping on it!
Also good to see the Brembo's are still on it, the RT and GS get the (BMW branded) Hayes calipers. TFT dashboard was only working on a neighboring R model, but it looked good as well.

Looking at the new engine spoiler I guess the MachineArt Avant Guard probably won't fit anymore.
Finally the big question; when would it be available? But sadly no firm answer there, so September/October would still be the best guess...

That is interesting. My 2012 Zero had Hayes calipers and I thought those brakes on that bike were just kind of average. Perhaps Hayes has made improvements to their brakes since then, or maybe Zero specified a lower-priced component at the time - also quite likely. Here is a photo of the front caliper on my old Zero. As you can see it is nothing like what is being installed on the 2019 BMW models. Until that time I had never heard of Hayes, although I have now learned that they make braking components for both American cars and trucks and also for push-bikes.

I mentioned before that the service period stated by my dealer for brake fluid change was 8k, this was due to the spongy lever action and the lever progressed towards the bar, this was evident with mine but i only noticed once the oil was changed (not pads ). it may have just been contamination but was it possible the calipers? the GS still has a brembo on the back and the top of the range GS has gold brembos on front too, what a mish mash.

I wish they would stick with this type of display. White faced tacho dial, a LCD panel with numerical speedo and LED warning lights. Admittedly, the RH side of the LCD panel is not well organised on the XR but the concept is sound.

The sweep of the needle, or blur at times on the XR, is such a classic look. A graphical representation on a flat panel is just not the same.

Barry Robsons (York) are led to believe that 1250 RS's will be available for August delivery.
Called in today to arrange service and MOT.
The place is full of nearly new GS's as affluent purchasers part ex for the new model. One has 700 miles on the clock.
Could be some bargains for potential buyers.
