Exhausts and Engine » Painting / powder coating stock exhaust

Hey all

I've been looking around and can't find an aftermarket exhaust I like for the R1200RS. Which leads me to, actually, the exhaust note is spectacular IMO for stock, which leaves my only complaints the size and the chromeness.

I think the size would be less of an issue if I could delete the chrome. Anyone painted / powder coated theirs?

I have the white bike with red and black frame colours, so would probably look at ideally black ceramic powder coat.

Anyone done similar? I would love to see pics to underwrite my crazy plan

@Mark coated his stock muffler black and left the end cap chrome for a accent.

With your gloss black wheels maybe a gloss black muffler will look good.

What did you do? Powder coated?

Try to find BMW Part 18 51 8 525 268, the satin SS muffler from a salvage yard or eBay

I have been thinking of a silver or black powder coat for my headers only, as I have a SC Project can. I have sent an email to a local company about the idea and cost.
