Early production '86 Suzuki Intruder 700cc had that problem too. Turns out the negative battery terminal screw had to be replaced with a longer fastener

Have they checked that the connectors on the fly by wire throttle are home? I inadvertently displaced mine on an R1200r did a similar thing.

The more I hear of other dealers the happier I am with the one I use.

Did this ever get resolved?

Same thing has happened to me about half dozen times. When accelerating 75 to 100 percent full throttle 1st or 2nd gear, loss of power is so abrupt it almost feels like the brake was applied. Thought maybe had something to do with traction control kicking in. Rear wheel spin. But I really don’t have a clue. Happened in road and dynamic mode so far. Wonder if this has happened to more then two of us or are we just the unlucky ones?

I have had this happen a few times when trying to use the quickshifter with the wrong throttle position. It is like dropping an anchor.

After 2 years (but only 14,000 k due to various issues) BMW again looked at the problem. I am informed that the issue has been confirmed, but BMW does not have a solution for it.

Mine "dies" for a heartbeat or two, at about 4,000 rpm with more than modest, but not wild, throttle opening. It seems the issue may be related to the shift cam, but I certainly don't know, and if BMW knows, as noted above, it isn't telling.

I have had this happen to me probably 3 or 4 times over the course of 15,000 km on my 2020 1250RS. Same symptoms, just like the ignition is killed for a moment.
I have always chalked it up to me making a sloppy shift from 1st to 2nd (using the shift assist, no clutch, 3/4 throttle opening), and not releasing the leaver fully and cleanly at the top of the shift motion. I have never noticed that the traction control indicator was blinking in this condition.

After reading this thread, and of other owners experiencing this condition, it's got me thinking....

Who else has had their dealer diagnose this problem? I think I will bring up the issue to my Tech early next season when I take the bike back for the 20,000 km service

I will have to be more observant the next time it happens.
