Yesterday, I had the chance for a nice afternoon ride, so I scooted north to the NY border on US15. A delightful bit of pavement thru the vacant part of PA on a clear, sunny day. Just a few degrees below normal.

Anyhow, at a highway rest stop, I found this compendium of R80G/S, R80ST and R100R parts. It brought back memories of my first BMW, a mighty R80ST. A wonderfully nimble machine with a woefully weak front brake.34-yrs ago - 2.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

This is the perfect post thread for us northeasters because it seems like that time of the year is coming soon.
I ride everyday and commute to work and since couple of days it feels lot cooler, temperatures are dropping drastically, time to say goodbye to SUMMER.

I had a 45-mile commute in the fog this morning. 50F, old Aerostich 2pc suit, a fleece jacket and the heated grips set at full-blast. Completed the job at 2P and the temperature was touching 80F. Rode home with just the jacket and all vents open.
Yep, that time of year

That is the absolute truth! Lots of worse places to be with a shorter riding season and worse roads.

Here in central Maryland, I am really looking forward to the Fall riding season. The only thing that detracts from the crisp, cool weather is Bambi.

Bambi? The primary duty of the PA state legislature is to maintain deer herds within 20-yards of all paved roads so the elderly, young and disabled can "get their buck". Accordingly, the graphic from state farm insurance isn't a surprise

Same in California, but they are now also including mountain lions and skunks. Unfortunately, the mountain lions are just not keeping up with their deer-thinning job and nothing much eats skunks other than the occasional Buick.

I have a friend who's originally from Texas. When the topic of hitting a deer comes up he usually says, "the deer in Maryland are much more stupid than those in Texas." I don't know about that, but since you're about twice as likely to hit one in Maryland I can see where he might think that.
