I've just received this. Seems like the paperwork and postage probably cost more than the clips but it's good to know we're supported.

I was mid way up the coast of Norway this summer, and stopped for a break. An old chap ambled up and said (in perfect English, of course) "look, your rear footpeg is about to fall off ".

And so it was, and I hadn't noticed. It almost fell off in my hand. So I'm taking it in. Thank you, Mr old chap half way up the coast of Norway.

In October I entered my VIN and received the suggested fix message.

I’m not too fussed about the issues as I haven’t visited a dealer for years and don’t expect a call.

I don’t go off-road, wade through streams or jet wash my seals, but will lube my splines before coming out to play next spring.

I haven't seen the new clips but have lost 2 so far from pillion pegs. Luckily the pin and peg and were still in place.

I was really surprised today to receive the recall letter. For circlips only. No mention of drive shaft as per online info.

Put my VIN in and it came up with 0000611800 which seems to be a software problem relating to the DRL!

chaps, where do you find out what the codes relate to? when i check my reg, 2018 1200rs, it shows code for the circlips, i only know that after reading on here, but there must be a tab on the BM site that lists what the codes are for?

Received letter from BMW dated 30th October stating recall for clips. Not sure when it arrived but away from 1st to 12th Nov. Letter heading says All models. Contacted Vines today and was told recall is not for my R1250RS exclusive registered 1st July 2020. Requested and received from Vines confirmation email. You would expect that having found a problem BMW could advise the right people.

The letter will also include the reg number of the relevant vehicle too, though?

I'm booked in for 18000mile service later this month for my 2016 (66 plate) RS. Neither recall coming up on the website & when I checked with the dealer nothing is showing for my bike? Reading this thread it seems like the circlips should be all bikes?
