RE: UPS Lost Shipment - 2

Congratulations on finally getting your "lost" package and sorry about your carport damage. I will report here if I ever resolve my book purchase from Amazon, but I am not putting any money on me getting the book unless I order it again at the higher price.

And here is the end of the story. I just received this message from Amazon. I guess they discovered that I was not paying enough for the book and returned it to their stock so that it could be sold for 4 times what I was buying it for:

Unfortunately, a problem occurred during shipping and we had to cancel your delivery. The package is being returned, and we will issue a refund within 3 - 5 business days after the return is processed. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience.

In any case, I jumped in the truck (which my wife had previously parked last weekend in the carport) and scrapped a support pillar with the front bumper facia as I backed out. For some unknown reason, my wife parked the truck really close to the left side of the carport and I didn't adjust my exit maneuver. Paint damage on plastic facia, .

I figured I would brighten the day of our forum members by including that part of the story.

As for how the package got lost.......someone, the seller or the UPS store staff, transposed the house number in my street address. The package was delivered to a non-existing address a block away on the prior Tuesday. How it got back into the UPS system is a mystery.

Also, since I had to file a police report, I learned that the UPS handheld device doesn't record the GPS coordination of the package delivery point. I assumed it did. I know a one-time, you could track the truck after it departed the local dept.
