Mostly I'm just curious what correlates with BMW RS ownership.

Personally, I own...
- 1986 Porsche 911 3.2 with 85k miles on it. I have no plans on ever selling this.
- recently sold a 2016 VW Golf R manual transmission. I was taking advantage of the crazy used car market and ditching a VW before it became a crack whore. I do miss the driving experience.
- 2021 Kia Telluride (wife's car)
- 2008 Toyota Highlander (wife's old car, going to my daughter when she gets her license in a few months)

I'm trying to figure out what my next regular, daily driver will be. A Tesla is a possibility. I'd like another car with a manual transmission, but I've pretty much given up on that.

When I got the RS, a 1998 Mazda B3000 pickup, 2013 Toyota Prius Two and a 1999 Honda CBR1100XX.

Sold the XX to another XX owner after the break in of the RS because it was so comfortable that I knew I�d never really ride the XX enough to justify keeping it. I�d like to sell the truck and car for a new truck, but I�ve not seen anything that makes me want to close the deal.

Finding a car with a manual transmission that doesn't look like a Fast-n-Furious fantasy or 60s Muscle car reproduction, is virtually impossible these days. The last time I was in the market, Mini was offering something in 4-dr car, but they hadn't produced or imported any for many months due to low sales.

Rockin' 325k on my '00 Honda Accord LX 5spd. The stick definitely makes, even something as "mundane" as an Accord, fun to drive

In addition to the motorcycles listed in my signature, I also own a 1999 Saturn (may they rest in peace) SW2 station wagon that is slowly closing in on 30K miles. It is great for my location near the ocean as it has mostly plastic body panels that don't rust or corrode.

A friend of mine used to own a GM dealership and he told me Saturn lost money every year.

With all due respect, that could have been said of any branch of GM, Ford or Chrysler that wasn't selling pick-ups or their SUV spin-offs. The first-generation Saturns were a good first attempt at building a competitive small car relative to the Civics, Corollas and Sentras

So I have a crappy Ford BMax which gets used as a glorified van for transporting stuff, notably the dogs (whixch aren't allowed in my partner's smart Nissan Quashqai.

I think I'm relatively unusual (as a biker with the means to afford a decent car) in that I have absolutely zero interest in cars. I simply couldn't care less about them. My RS is my pride and joy, and I ride it every chance I get; but the car? Meh. Gets me from A to B when it's really shitty weather or when I need to transport something large or bulky. Or canine.

Nothing exciting.
I have a 2018 Chevy Equinox Premier with 32,000 miles.
Debbie has a 2008 Chevy Malibu LTZ with 65,000 miles. Her car is still in good condition.
We don't have any foreign car dealerships near us.
Now that Debbie is retired we don't need her car but I think we'll keep it as a spare.

Honestly, in much of America, you'll only have truck dealerships, these days, for new vehicles.

My daily commute is 0. Since the pandemic started, I've been working from home full time and there's no sign that will change. I won't really need a daily driver until sometime next year when my daughter gets her license. Even then, my wife and I could continue to share and I have the other options when the weather and destination work (the 911 doesn't get driven to the supermarket).

I do have a garage, but if I got a Tesla it'd have to sit outside. I know a couple of other people with them and they do the same.

Charging outside can get ugly, with snow & ice accumulating overnight at the charge port. A friend of mine and his wife have a Hyundai Plug-in and a BEV. They're happy with both, and the prices were in the Nissan Leaf range.
