I've been on the site for several years but really haven't had anything new to add. I recently washed the bike , blew it dry and stored it on the center stand. The next time I went to use it, the stand appeared to be seized and I had to jack the bike to free the stand. I lubed it and tried it a few times with no problem. Next time I went to use it, it was seized again. Anyone else had this problem or am I the only one? |

I bet it's not seized. Standing on left side of bike, use your left foot against the front of the center stand, push bike off stand.

Thanks for the suggestions. My legs are too short to straddle and push off the center stand. I stand on the leg and push off from the side, it just scoots across the floor. I put a jack under the center and raise it enough to clear and strike it with a dead blow and it's free. Moves freely at that point. I've put lube to it. I've owned the bike for 4 yrs and it has about 6K miles on it. This sticking started a couple of months ago, prior it was fine. Time to spend some time underneath it. |

Try placing a thin rubber pad (or something similar) under the stand feet and see if that keeps it from sliding along as you attempt to roll if off of the center stand.

No way is it seized. The 2 bushes are relatively small. Even with bike on side stand the centre stand will move enough to let you squirt some oil into the bushes.

I don't think the center stand is a paradigm of design. I really have to put weight on mine to get it up and I have to lift/stomp to get it off- on a rough cement floor. My Guzzi (+1-200 lbs) is a heck of a lot easier to up and down. Ok, enough complaining- getting the BMW up is ok if I put all my weight on the center stand to counter-weight the bike. To get it off, I have to lift (de-weight?) it a good 40-50 lbs, so the bike doesn't move forward. |

My floor is smooth concrete. The bike has always come off the stand easily on the same floor. I may just take it in and let someone else deal with it. I have a somewhat vague picture in my mind of me laying on the floor with the RS on top of me and my cellphone laying on my workbench hoping my wife comes out sooner or later to check on me. |
