Off Topic » Ideas for Christmas presents for the biker?

It is that time of year again! My son and I have exchanged messages about presents. I have very little idea what to buy him and not a clue what to ask him for!

So suggestions for handy modest cost items for the biker please? I will set the ball rolling. I really like these ROK luggage straps

I have loads of bungee straps but these are light and easily pocketable. They are way better than bungees. You will find them at a better price than the above on Ebay - as low as £12 for a pair.

A pair of Grip Puppies

Both my wife and I like to wear helmet liners to help keep the inside of the helmet clean.
My wife likes to wear a silk balaclava sold by BMW and I wear what BMW calls a Ride Hat or Ride Helmet Liner.

Both are very thin and do not affect the fit of the helmet.

Part number for a silk Balaclava size large is 76 23 8 567 407

Part number for Hat Ride size large is 76 23 8 567 414

Another item I have used for awhile in cool weather to seal around my neck is a Easy Tube.
I have several of these made by different companies.
Part number for a BMW Easy Tube is 76 23 8 547 273 one size fits all.
Both of us used a easy tube this year because it was easy to pull up over your nose when stopping for gas ect.
We also found the helmet liner and neck tubes were a big help if you wet them in severe hot weather.

Question, ever tried wetting the helmet liner and opening the vents in high heat? I did this year for the first time, works from 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on whether you open the top vent or just the chin vent.

I wouldn’t be buying anything for Xmas spelt B M W.

Older son’s stocking filler is a cheapish multi-meter as he keeps borrowing my old one (I just did a quick online search).

One grandson is getting a nice Sealey LED rechargeable torch, recommended as a Best Buy in a popular motoring magazine. So good I bought another one for myself.
