RE: Road salt, the signal of the seasons end - 3

So I ended up with a great ride on Monday. Found a new breakfast/lunch pace in Shelburne Falls called Baked. Just turn left before the bridge and it's right there. Small place serves all local produce stuff. Pancakes were really good and the bacon was the real thing. Good coffee too. But about the bike. The gps (Nav 6) wouldn't turn on until the ride home. Not really sure why but it appears that the battery was too low. I had the unit in the house and turned fully off for the winter.

Low temp on the ride out was 28F and the low key battery warning came up on the dash. I had the key in an outside pocket, so I think it just got cold. Will replace.

I've been thinking over the winter about slowing down some and watching Itchy Boots. Yep, RE Himi is on the way. I will be a two bike guy for the first time in many moons.

By the way. The RS is a really nice bike

Yesterday I noticed the DOT was spraying brine on the two highways in town :(
Wish they had not bothered because this morning it's melting as it hits the untreated streets.

Truly annoying when they do that. But, the squeaky wheel......

In my town, the old parking meters are dying and new parts aren't available (even the eBay supplys are long gone), so we decided to buy new ones and opted for credit card compatible models. While our parking rates haven't changed since the last century and the credit card feature requires a bank service fee, a number of locals want the parking fee to stay the same. And, for some elected people, defending this request for a decades old fee and absorbing the cost of credit card transaction fee seems reasonable. But, pandering votes is nothing new.

So, I can see at some meeting, some elected official will be complimenting the road crew on their prompt attention to the March 13th Blizzard.

Watching "Itchy Boots" has been helping to bide my time until I go for my first ride.

3.3 inches of rain the last two day, so that washed the roads in our part of the state.
North of interstate 80 was supposed to get a couple inches of snow last night so there still may be sand and salt there.
