What are some of the best techniques and/or places to stash the emergency plastic key on a long tour, in case your FOB goes kaput or wanders?

I put it in my wallet with my driver's license.

I have it on a key ring with a spare Givi key. If I lose the main set I can get into the luggage and start the bike.

I put this on a safety pin and insert in the knee pocket of my trousers. Pin through the outer layer of fabric so the Goretex is not punctured and the CE armour stops it digging into my knee.

I keep it in my jacket pocket. I've thought about hiding it on the bike somewhere with a zip tie, but the jacket pocket option seems to working out ok for me.

my jacket might be separated from me or even draped over the bike, making theft easier

I will need to be properly distracted and lucky if I need to get my trousers off

I ride 2016 R1200RS, 2018 R1200GSA, 2016 Honda PCX150
my wife rides 2016 R1200RS, 2015 Honda PCX150

Hi, did a search rather than create a new post, so apologies for raising an old post.

I put my emergency key in the cheek pad of my helmet. As it goes everywhere I go.

Spare key on split ring, 550 paracord necklace that just slips over my head. It's not gong to get lost. It's always on my person. Devised this system for the 8K miles round trip to the arctic circle and back 2018. I don't take it but on extended trips.
