Hi from the Highlands of Scotland Iam planning buying a 2005 1200 with 23 000 miles My question is How quiet is this bike. I have tinitus and need a bike with as little wind noise as possible Are there better screens or is the standard one good I like the idea of the electric screen Does it work well Thanks

My experience is that a good set of well-fitting ear plugs are your best defense against wind noise. Followed by a large windshield that blocks the wind from hitting your helmet. Lastly, a good fitting helmet can help a little, too. But there are drawbacks with a large windshield. When it gets coated with fog droplets, bug guts, mud, ice, snow, etc. you will need to have a windshield that is still small enough so that when it is lowered you can see over the top of the windshield.

You didn't specify which 1200 you are considering purchasing, but if it is an RT you should be fine. Any other model will likely require the installation of a new larger windshield for the best wind protection.

Shoei R1200 is not sold in Europe - I think we have a very similar helmet in the NXR.
