New on here this week - just got a 2016 Iconic RS - so already looking forward to big travel plans for next year.

Two things I always put on a new bike if it doesn't have them - Grip Puppies and a Tank Protector.

Sorted for the first, but BMW don't do a tank protector for the RS, so it looks like Ebay or Amazon. All I want is a simple transparent, or black (or at a push - carbon style) strip to protect the tank paintwork from zips and buckles. I don't need a three part set with tank knee grips, a fancy logo telling me it's a 1200RS (I already know that), or anything in any selection of colours that will detract from the Iconic's beautiful paintwork. And I'm not sure I need to spend £30+ on a wee pad of rubber/plastic.

Any ideas welcome - otherwise I'll go all Blue Peter and get out the sticky back plastic....

I was in a bike kit shop yesterday, and noticed quite a few made by Oxford which looked like they'd fit your criteria:

Pretty much exactly what I'll need in there somewhere!!

Try motografix some colour specific tank pads good quality and easy to fit.

If you are talking about the base of the tank. I got a fairly big bit of self adhesive Velcro ( about 3-4” wide ) and using the fluffy side, cut it to the shape I wanted and then stuck it onto the tank. I have used plastic things in the past, but they never seem to fit well and soon have bubbles or peal away at the edges.
