Any time I leave the pavement I put it in rain and it's a night and day difference. It particularly has more than once turned a stimulating ride boring when an unpaved road turned to mud. At a very slow pace in Road or Dynamic my rear tire would slide side to side 3-4 inches no matter how carefully I rode and as soon as I put it in Rain it was on rails. Another option that comes with ride modes is the User mode which you can configure yourself; I have it set with engine in Road mode and traction control (and ABS) in Rain mode. This is the mode I tend to use with wet roads, the Rain mode is a bit too cautious IMHO. But agree with TPadden, when there is a downpour or the asphalt ends, the Rain mode is really useful! |

...no hills in Florida or the Netherlands.... Rain mode off-road is probably OK, if not very fun. “A good man always knows his limitations.” |

User is my favorite setting that's available with Pro mode. Mine's set for throttle on Dynamic, traction control on Road. I never change it, even in the rain. I like knowing the throttle will respond the same regardless of conditions. Not saying it's the best way, just what works for me.
