inevitable really...seized brake piston

I decided to treat the RS to some new brake pads. Left hand side, no problem. Right hand side and one of the pistons has refused to budge. It is the inboard side, nearest the front.

That’s worth knowing, about 70 miles from me, thanks for the info, might call him and ask if he’ll have a look at the rear brake of my RS, as part of my last annual service dealer changed brake fluid, did full health check inspection all green lights, I had also requested another mot, to avoid the Feb weather to be done after service and picked up an advisory on mot (Rear Brake indicates slight fluctuation of brake effort very minor (1.2.1 (e)) ) that wasn’t there 3 months and 600 miles ago, and I certainly hadn’t noticed it. Dealership advised “keep an eye on it” ! |

I think turning up in a scruffy pair of jeans and T shirt helped, rather than full on Rukka. He's only 2 miles away so no ATTGATT needed.

There was a decent place in Chester but they have a different franchise now.. Where are you? There's also a place in Church Stretton and a chap on the Wirral with decent reputations.

Thanks for the info on Chester, used the old place in Chester and the guys were great, then moved to Jefferies in Rotherham, was Rainbow, also a great place, but sadly it’s now part of Vertu (Bristol street lot) and my experiences with them with my daughters car trying to continually up sell, means I would not use them. |

Hi Wayfarer, My bike also registered a rear brake fluctuation on the last MOT. The tester suggested it was due to a slight mark on the disc, caused by putting the bike away with wet pads after a wash. I certainly can't feel it on the road, the brake test meters are very sensitive. |

I see in the owners manual the advice to move the unbolted caliper to push the pads back when completing a wheel removal. |
