RE: Fitting custom earplugs - 2

I used to use the Howard Leight pink/yellows, then switched to Ultimate Ears (moulded at the NEC) with filters, didn’t like them, asked them to fill the hole which they did FOC, but still not what I want and have just switched back to disposables, this time 3M E A Rsoft, which are great.

Why do folks lube their disposables with spit? Gross. Ultimate Ears provide ear balm which I am sure you can get more of if you run out.

Moulding reuseables with your helmet on seems a good idea though.

I've never lubed a disposable. ~$20 for 100 pair (corded) or 200 pair (uncorded) is cheap enough even for me to get new.

Howard Leight also makes a reusable plug with several soft ridges that I use when mowing or brush trimming. During those fun times, I frequently have to remove or install plugs with dirty hands. At those times, it's nice to have an exposed tail.

Sorry, I meant custom/reusable plugs for lubing, not disposables.
