Best full face helmet for summer/heat - recommendations please

So I've been rocking the LS2 Vector Carbon for the last few years and it is a very solid middle-ground/jack-of-all lid. I intend to get the ECE 22.06 Vector 2 when it becomes available for year-round but here I am considering purchasing a helmet strictly for the summer tours and summer commute heat.
That guy on a red CBR in January people stare at because it's 0C and they're shivering in a car with heated seats - but he's filtering awaaaay!

I have an HJC RPHA 90S Carbon Balian that I've had for a year or so. It's a modular with drop down visor, very good venting, comes with a pinlock vior and insert and weighs less than my Shoei GT Air. I think the airflow is comparable to the GT Air also. My only complaint besides the carbon fiber being on the loud side (I wear well fitting ear phones so not really a problem) is that the visor detents are not strong enough to hold the visor unless you got to fully open where that detent is strong enough to hold (up to about a 80, or so). Revzilla lists them for $670, but I got mine cheaper elsewhere. Can't remember where exactly but I can have a look through my papers if you are interested. |

I used a Schuberth C4 for several years, but complained often about the poor ventilation on hot days.

Thanks for the recommendation - no need to shuffle I'll see what it's worth locally as I am nowhere near Revzilla.

I am a Shoei fan as they fit me well. I have been lucky enough to buy an original Neotec for 300GBP and I have a Neotec II ready to go, that cost £349. Both bought from M&P in the UK when they had a batch at a special price. I have tried so many different makes and I just know a Shoei in XL is likely to fit, maybe with thinner cheek pads like on the old XR1100.

I'm a modular type of guy...once you get used to NOT having to remove the helmet every time you stop for a couple of minutes, you won't go back. Not as cool as taking it off, but a lot less work when all you're doing is stopping to get gas to use the gents. I've never had an issue with ventilation on any helmet, but to be fair, when I've had fogging or cooling issues, I just pop open the visor one notch...just enough to let fresh air flow in fast. I've been in 37C+ heat and the helmet WAS NEVER an issue unless I was stuck in traffic. Even then, go with a more reflective color to reduce how much heat you're absorbing.

The original has a ratchet mechanism in small steps so easy to keep it open a notch, although it does slam shut if I request urgency from the motor on both of my bikes, but such acceleration is rarely needed. The mk2 has too big a step between shut and the first click, and closes much easier at more modest speeds.

Namely the local wildlife (those annoying little fruit-fly swarms in the city May-July, and all other kinds of buzzards out of the city) means something over your face is a must. Hell I've even been headbutted by a sparrow once at 100kph and some heavy duty flying bugger left a small bruise on my shin last year. Sales are few and far between and usually reserved for late autumn is the usual XXS and XXL sizes... My girlfriend has a Suomy but she says she's cooking in that particular model.
