14 ride days, 3600 miles on the new Dunlop RS4's. 8/32 new, now just under the 7/32's mark. These tires are incredible on my RS. Saw rain and cold weather going over Bear tooth Pass, heat of 113F coming back into the valley of the sun [ Az. ] yesterday afternoon. I was at 4/32's at 3500 miles on the PR5's, quite the difference in longevity. Both my brother and I were on new sets of these. When moving through rain, they throw quite the rooster tail of water even at 30mph.

Lost the low beam in Wyoming, took the protectors off and junked them as another member here had warned me that they retain too much heat and blow the bulb/s. Fortunately I was heading east through SD, and making a stop in Sturgis in a few days. Had the bmw dealer in my contacts, called and they fit me in Monday first thing on the 26th of July. Awesome service, in and back on the road in 30 minutes. They charged me 47.00 USD for the bulb and labor. The mind is the limiting factor |

When we went to Alaska I duct taped plastic bubbles to our K75T headlights. When I removed the covers I saw both of our headlights were cracked. I always wondered if the trapped heat cracked the glass lens. 1988 Alaska_0004.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) I also put duct tape on the leading edge of the radiator cover and front fender to protect from rock chips while on the gravel roads in the Yukon. When I removed the tape I saw the tape had dissolved the clear coat. Aeroflow's. I'd been warned here that these would trap too much heat and he'd replaced his headlight a few times before junking them. I could expect the same in the heat of my normal AO. |

I used sheets of Expel for my headlights. Very protective and clear. Most people don’t know they’re covered with anything, unless I point it out. Haven’t noticed any heat issues, even with the led bulbs. |
