My favorite area to ride in WA and OR for the past 10 years has been on both sides of the Columbia River Gorge between Portland and The Dalles. I was already planning to do at least one trip to the Gorge on my 1150R this summer. This rally just gave me another excuse to head down there. I'll be going with a friend who lived in Alaska but is now in Seattle and meeting another friend from Alaska who will be riding his 1200GS up from Eugene (many Alaskan motorcyclists keep at least one bike in the L48 states). I'll be riding the 2016 1200RS I just purchased and my Seattle friend will probably be riding my 1150R (her R1200R is still in Alaska). I promised my wife that I would sell the 1150R, but that will have to be after this rally. |
