I have a GS-911 wifi and damned if I'm able to find the connector on the bike. I watched GrumpyGoat's video and I can't find anything in the area of the battery that is round and will fit to the GS-911. Does the 2017 have a different connector that the 2016? Has anyone with a 2017 used the GS-911? I'm really scratching my head on this one.

it's not the round one on Euro4 bikes - has to be the universal type

"What to look for? A round 10-pin connector , usually covered with a cap. In later(2016+) EURO4 compliant bikes, the connector will be the rectangular 16 pin OBD2 compatible form factor."

2017 would be Euro4 spec which means your bike will have the universal "D" or squarish shaped connector. My 2016 Euro3 spec has a round connector.
In either case the connector is behind the battery cover on RH side. The 2016 round one is easy to spot, the 2017 "D" connector you may have to dig for. RTFM as they say

You only need an adapter cable if you have a round connector on your WiFi GS-911. If your GS-911 has a "D" connector (some do), you will be able to plug it right in. You must have the newer red WiFi GS-911 and not the old yellow GS-911.
What I've said applies to Euro spec bikes. I'm assuming US spec will be similar.

Does this help? As others have said your bike does not have the round one, and I got this from a 2018 manual.

I was able to get a converter cable from Amazon

The OBD connector shows on this video. Just to the right of the Battery and below the Red Positive jump starting connection . This is the video about battery removal on a R1250RS in Knowledge Base . This shows the new shape connector fitted from 2017 models (Euro 4 specs).
