Anyone on here pushed the boat out and bought "any" of the paid versions of Motoscan?

I'm trying to find out if it would do what I want it to do, as my Lite version won't, ie "coding" !

Yep, bought the elite version for my previous bike a 2008 r1200rt, used it to reset service light and to calibrate a fuel gauge sensor, not used it on the R1250rs as yet, as its under warranty and not needed to check anything yet.
It appears to work very well, and the support by email is excellent.

As I understand, "coding" is possible with the Ultimate SW version. What I understand by "coding" in the MotoScan context, is that you can replace controller modules eg. an instrument cluster say, so that the ECU will "recognize" it and allow it to talk to the CAN bus.

If you are looking to tweak throttle/fuel mapping, that's another story altogether. MotoScan won't do that. That would require ECU access, and I'm sure BMW has that well and truly locked. I would think the only way to do mapping would be by means of a Power Commander V or suchlike.

Just my 2c worth, and don't take my assumptions as gospel.

I'm only after changing the cluster reading from bar to psi, but it's a coding proceedure, which it sounds like Motoscan might be able to do.

I say might, because in the parallel world of the GS911, it is not achievable due to the fact that HEXCode have not broken into the XKOMBI53 controller as of yet (native to the R1200RS 2016). This is the bit that I need access to in order to make the changes, which ARE possible on other controllers.

Sorry not looked into coding at all, but I did find them very responsive to email for technical support, also it’s the ultimate version I have not the elite!

Phil, I'll take a look with MotoScan when I get a chance. I also have an older BT GS-911 BTW, but it won't work with the LC boxers. For that you need the newer WiFi GS-911. Something to do with the older BMW's using K-line communication, and the newer ones some other protocol. So MotoScan was a cheaper option for me.

BTW GS-911 is based about 50 km from where I live. Really helpful guys, as are MotoScan from what I gather. Maybe contact MotoScan regarding BAR~PSI coding first.

I just took a look at coding for the Instrument Cluster (KOMBI), and although there is a coding menu option for this control unit (InstrumentkombiK53), it gives a response something like "no coding possible for this unit".
So I assume coding for this unit is still in the pipeline. Not sure if it's worth holding your breath for that to happen. You'd need to contact MotoScan for more info.

Update:

After having bought the OBDlink LX and upgraded the Motoscan to the Ultimate version, it seemlessly changed the "bar" to "psi" on the GS, but as of yet, I cannot do it on the RS until Motoscan or HEXCode hack the relevant controllers.
Getting there

...... for what it is worth I checked with HEXCode within the last month and they had still not made progress with the controller for a 2017 RS. ( wanted to change Odo from Miles to KM after importing to Spain- eventually after an international threesome with BMW Germany, UK and Spain my local dealer did it for 'free')
