A reason to ride.......Covered Bridge trip in SE West Virginia.

About the time the old forum imploded, my riding buddy and I had completed a search and find for 2 bridges near Ronceverte and Lewisburg, Wv. Prior to this trip, over the last several years, we have located and photographed all the bridges in Va. (8) and (8) of the (18) in Wv. These two bring our Wv. total to (10). A web site assists me in getting to the general location of the bridges and then, if it isn't on a main thoroughfare, we ask some locals for help in finding the back road locations. Some off the main path bridges are found by roadside markers, others are quite honestly hunt and find. Paved and cinder roads are not uncommon in where these wonderful objects are presented upon the landscape. Sometimes there are farm animals to negotiate as well. However, nothing too challenging for the trusty R1200RS steed. These two are named Hern's Mill and Hoke's Mill. They're well preserved and have had some significant renovations in the last 20 or so years. Hope you enjoy these bits of Americana. Thanks, Lee. The best way to learn is through trial, error, and some very helpful advice. Yes I have been to Humpback. I went there the day after acquiring my RS. September of last year. These pictures are taken from my iPhone but I'm not aware of any options when saving them on the phone to my Photo App. I may even have to try some editing on my iMac to get the desired result. What I think I'll try to do for the next go round is take the picture with the phone in a horizontal (landscape) aspect. Most all of the previous pictures have been taken in a vertical (portrait) aspect. Trial and error............or perhaps someone else reading this has the fix. I'm looking for simplicity. Thanks again for your help. You seem to have an interest in these relics too. Stick.

FYI, Photoshop Express (free at the Apple App Store) works great on the iPhone (even better on an iPad with its larger screen). It allows rotation, cropping, and lots of image adjustments like brightness, contrast, sharpening, etc.

The important thing is don't be afraid to keep messing with it until you find an option that works for you.

ps - as one who has struggled with adding photos on here, I will try some of the hints above.

The inexplicable part of this, BB55, is that when on the forum on my PC at work, they're rotated 90* anti-clockwise. At home on my iPad, they're straight up just like i view them in the Photo App. Which was synced of course from when they were taken with the iPhone. I may also try the custom size reduction and a suggestion I found in the help section regarding picture loading for a slide show from, Wessie, if I remember correctly. It's kinda fun learning this new forum, but I don't know the German language! Stick.
