And I decided to keep going. I'm not riding anyway due to the Covid-19 restrictions so I've decided to give the exhaust headers and the underside of the bike a good clean. I did the brakes before the Winter but I'll check them over too.

I'm wondering if anyone out there in RS land might have a 2nd hand set of de-catted headers for a 1200, just while it's in bits like

Looks like BMW still has the gloppy welds at the exhaust flanges. I wonder if there is any benefit to cleaning those up a bit.

If you mean the raised circumferential weld then I'm sure it provides the seal on the gasket, so probably no :)

For a 2015 bike (late 2015) it's holding up very well indeed.

I'm talking about the weld between the flange (which provides the gasket seal) and the pipes on the interior. I ground this a bit smoother on my 1100S but really couldn't tell you if it made any difference. It just made my OCD side feel better
