Hi Lee, unfortunately it’s circular on our helmets and I can’t see how we could move the speaker as it wouldn’t sit in the recess |

At speeds 75 MPH and above it's hard to hear intercom if there's a cross or head wind. We have the OEM shields and I use Howard Leight Max Lite foam ear plugs. Volume was good at all speeds for GPS instructions. Sometimes the first couple words are garbled, but this may be a Nav V problem?? Only listened to music a few times for short intervals. Music volume is so so at 75 MPH. It's fine below that. I only listened to music a few times because the Nav V media player would not play music when both helmets were connected for intercom. I need to look at the manual and see if I can listen to music when we have our helmets in intercom mode. Before I changed the firmware back to 1.0 I could listen to music at full volume when standing still and no ear plugs in. After changing the firmware the music is too loud if set to full volume when standing still and no ear plugs in. We purchased our helmets and SC1As at Engle Motors and one of the owners was very helpful in checking my setup and repeatably calling SENA for help. When I was in Kansas City a couple weeks back Adam agreed the volume was too low and did a good job of finding a fix. He was also willing to replace the units and would probably refund our money if a solution was not found.

At this point I rate music good. Intercom I rate fair to good. As for phone calls, if my phone is on and I receive a call my plan is to tap ignore. Most of the time my phone is off unless I need to see weather radar on the GPS. Anyone one having a volume problem with the SC1 or SC1A I strongly suggest changing the firmware back to 1.0

Love my C4, the SC1 is ok. It is a smidge quiet when wearing earplugs, but plenty loud otherwise. I've taken several phone calls, and the people on the other end always comment on the excellent sound quality. It's very comfortable and MUCH quieter than my HJC Sy-Max. My biggest complaint with the SC1 is the lack of voice commands. With my old Sena unit (unsure of the model) it would read text messages to me, and I could respond with voice to text. The 2 button controls work, but are a bit clunky and I need the user's guide to actually remember how to use most of the features. I really like the airflow and viability of this helmet. I'll reiterate this point, the wind noise is drastically less than with my old HJC. |

That site is a bit weird - compare the C4 (sharp rating 3.3) with the Neotec 2 (sharp rating 4.4). The Impact Zone tests and the percentage of "latch failures" show as worse for the Neotec, yet it gets a higher rating ?
