I'm really happy with my 2015 RS. It has lots of 'tweaks' to make it right for me. Clearwater Darla's and Billie Jnr, Avantguard, Mudsling, HP footrests, MRA Screen, MachineArt Moto Head covers, Remus end can, Hilltop tune, proper colour....

Next August I'm 66 {How the feck did that happen?). O A Pension time and the mortgage will be paid off. I probably keep working and with pensions from the services and the police I should be quite comfortable.

So I've been pondering what to do bike wise. Keep the 1200? 1250RS? Something different?

I've owned a 1200GS for over 3 years and I've ridden a 1250GS . They don't appeal.

Last week I sat on my mates late 1200 GSA (TFT) and it 'nearly' fit. I loved the hugeness factor??

I popped into Jefferies today to try a GSA 1200 with a low GS seat. Very do-able.....

I have a plan and it involves looking for a 1200 Tonka Toy in a years time

We'll see of course.

Will you keep or trade the RS?

Have you tried a S1000XR? Current model is on runout with some substantial discounts. Sit up riding position, mental performance.

Funny you should mention that Wessie. They do appeal but I've kinda grown used to that shaft thing. Maintaining the wife's ER6-N chain is enough of a pain....

XR chain maintenance is minimal. An inline 4 does not abuse a chain like a single or twin, plus it is a more robust spec. I have not needed to adjust the chain between services & tyre changes. Occasional lube, washed in paraffin twice in 13 months. Of course, I tend to ride the RS if forced to ride in filthy weather.
