Shortly after I bought my 2018 K1200RS I had the dealer install the factory fog lights and wiring. When I picked up my bike the switch was attached to the clip on and mounted solidly however I noticed in an add for another bike the switch is mounted beside the hazard switch. (See picture)..my bike is stored and I cannot access it to show how the dealer installed the switch.

My question is should my switch have been installed in the same manner as the picture? Is it possible for me to remove the plastic tab and re position my switch there?

That switch is for the daytime running light. At least on mine it is.

Good to know. I had the left hand switch changed three times on my K1300S..hope that doesn’t become a problem on the R.

Can you send a pic that shows where the switch is installed ? I'd like to get those but I want to see the integration first. If it's not good enough, I'll go aftermarket.

The CanBus controller connects to the battery, and the bike's CanBus system, and controls the lights.

Mine are on when the bike is running, and each side switches off when the indicator is on. Check out the video.

As Paul has already mentioned, the lights can be programmed and controlled via a CanBus module, and both Denali and Clearwater (amongst others) have these options. I went with the Clearwater Darla D76 kit - https://www.clearwaterlights.com/collect...ant=17718757061 - which came with the MaMo light bars and CanBus 3 controller.

If you have a bit of electrical knowledge its fairly straight forward, and the instructions are clear enough otherwise. There is no need to use tools other than a cutter to trim the cable tie tails and your longest time taken is in stripping and restoring the panel work, and deciding on how best to route the cables.

The Clearwater programming is likewise straight forward and I have them set for 50% with DRL, 30% with headlight, 100% high beam, 3% with indicator on and strobing at 100% with horn. No additional switches are needed as the CanBus 3 connects to the heated seat CanBus connection and reads the network to identify if the headlight (or DRL) is on and whether it is low or high beam, whether the horn switch is pressed or the indicators are operated, and operates accordingly.

I will look into this solution which seems cheaper (nice) and much more versatile (very nice) than the standard OEM items. I am very interrested by the different pattern that can be programmed. Is there any online documentation available for this ?
