What have you done to bike » "mini-bag" for travel light

For our trip to IoM TT I decided to leave the Givi V47 topbox at home. Mostly to prevent my brother and son from ditching their luggage on me "as I have so much space to spare"...
I found a small 6,5 litre soft bag (brand Q-bag) in a motorcycle store in Berlin a couple of years ago, and as it was very cheap it followed me home.
It got a zipper so the bag can be detached from the soft baseplate. The bags base can be attached to a pillion seat with straps, but as I have some of the prototype version of my Bacaruda adapterplate laying around i choose to make a more permanent installation by bolting the base to the luggageplate.
I removed the rubber bumpers and used MC6S M6 to attach the base to the plate.
It will hold locking chain, first aid kit and disc lock. Easy accessible and will keep the profile of the bike a little cleaner compared to a big 47 Litre topbox.[img][img][img]Qbag 1.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)qbag2.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)[/img][/img][/img]

I use the Hornig expandable tailbag. In it's smaller, unexpanded form it holds my rain suit, glove covers, and a flat kit/inflator. It doubles in size when expanded, allowing me to fit unexpected items within. I like a topcase, but to be useful they must be fairly large. For a sporty bike, the big cases miss the mark for me...

Also visible are the Grip Puppies I installed. I’m still undecided about keeping them. They’re comfortable, but make the throttle more difficult to modulate.

Another Nelson Rigg owner/user here. Mine is an earlier version of the one pictured and works great. Tools, first aid kit, tire repair kit, 12vt. pump and assorted odds and ends reside within. I have a top box but have never used it and probably never will.

I use a givi 20 Liter tail bag. Fairly capable.

I also ordered a GIVI top box but fairly small in size. Will report back when I get it. I wanted something I could put my work laptop.

For small trips I have the Nelson Rigg tail bag. Actually never have put it on my R1250RS, but someday I will.
Just the space you need for raingear, gloves and some misc small stuff.
