Hi All, I’m useless technically, have loaded MP3 files in microSD in the Nav V, I can see the music and play the songs but I get no sound through my headset, although the voice prompts from the Nav V for routes works just fine.
Can anyone assist me with suggestions to sort this out? Thanks.

When you press the play icon can you see the track timer counting down / up. In other words is it actually playing the track as it’s a bit iffy when using Bluetooth from th3 phone and doesn’t always play

Hi Boxerboy, have you paired the nav V as a mobile phone? In order to listen to music as well as turn by turn instructions you must pair it as an A2DP device (mobile phone) . If you pair it as a sat nav it will probably pair as a HFP device and music won't work. What intercom are you using?

I found playing music a lot more difficult on a Nav V than on my old Zumo 660 which was a doddle. As I remember it the 660 placed a file structure , including an MP3 folder both on the main memory and any SD card. It was just a matter of dropping MP3 files into the folder and away you go. My Nav V seems to require the user to create new folders.
It then still doesn't recognise music on the SD unless I place at least one music file on the main memory. Very odd.
If you want to use it off the bike there is no built in speaker, unlike the Nav IV or 660 so you have to buy a cradle, at an extortionate price, to hear spoken directions.
With my 660 I could play music files from my phone as well - not with the Nav V it seems.
Once you get it working the sound quality is good though.

I found I only had to put the MP3 files onto the micro SD card. I made a music folder on the SD card and then dropped the files into that as separate folders for each artist and each album e.g. Music/Pink Floyd/Dark Side of the Moon/mp3file.
Sounds like Boxerboy can get the file to play but can't hear it. When my nav is in the cradle on the bike the volume controls on the nav are overidden and set to auto as far as I remember. My intercom has separate volume controls for navigation and music, would be worth making sure the volume isn't turned down for music.

Hi Boxerboy, another thing to check. With your intercom and nav both switched on and connected (you don't need the nav on the bike for this) from the main screen on the nav, select settings, Bluetooth and select your intercom and make sure 'media' has a green tick.

Did you have a chance to check the volume settings?
Click on volume
Click on the wrench at the upper left
Click on Audio Mixer
Make sure Media is turned up.

I use a SENA 10U. I have the phone linked to the NAV 5 and the NAV 5 linked to the SENA. You can link both to the SENA but that seems to cause all sorts of problems. I get phone calls through the NAV 5 and traffic updates from the phone to the NAV 5.
MP3 files in music folder on Micro Card. SD cards format must be FAT32 ( I think???) but if the tracks are showing on the NAV5 screen then it seems you have the file bit sorted.
Try unpairing everything and start again. Try pairing phone to NAV and NAV to Intercom.
The instructions for both the NAV and the SENA are in a foreign language called tech, so it took me a while to sort it. But when working it’s very good.

That's how I have my system set up, phone to nav, nav to headset.
