And in local news....... Old man buys old bike.

I bought one of those from a co-worker in the early 1980's. Typical story, sat under a tarp on a porch for a number of years. The brake caliper was seized and the carbs were caked with a yellowish crap. I fixed the brakes but never cured the carb problems.

Very nice stable of bikes there Bravo. I had a GT 250 in '74 new from G and W in Wisbech. Before they moved from, I think, Hill street. Two years of fun before getting married. Before that I owned a couple of C15s so got about by hitchhiking a lot. Bloody things were always knackered. Second of those was from G&W. Just got it running and gingerly rode there for a trade in on GT. |

Ah, I thought GT was one Adam sold you by the pic. Had my RS MOT on friday. sailed through on 38500m. (9k in year). Got my Sprint GT all together to take for test. Should be ok if battery holds.. not ridden it in a year, test ran out Aug 22. She sits at 57.5 k. I go to a place in Fakenham, near Jack Richards. Must sell though. Its a lot heavier than the RS and really I would like to buy a NEW SV650 next spring just as a 50 year gift for me, after the last new bike ( the GT in 74). Maybe bump into you sometime, (not literally ). Yeah , guess you're right that an old bike bike rides like an old bike, but memories stay young. |

. Unfortunately I been doing less since that dammed chinky flu,seems that and with work I've gotten out of the habit. Did less than 3000 on the RS and only 400 on the viffer, plan on changing that next year.

Bravo, Looks in good nick. I also had an R reg GT250 in 1981. Supposedely better in the engine than my 1973/74 one. It was a bit of a wreck really and never had the go that my earlier one had. |
