Having used this forum a couple of times and found it useful, I thought I'd better introduce myself. I bought my R1250RS in 2021 trading-in a 2017 Ducati Supersort S; latter had become too red, loud and 'sporty' riding position for me. I really enjoy riding the RS with its fabulous torque, confident handling and comfort; very surprised to find I also like what I thought were gimmicks, the hill start and cruise control.
Fitted with the 'touring kit', I was lucky to buy nearly-new BMW panniers at 1/2 price from a mate who found them too small when 2-up. I bought a set of 'tumbler forks' and soon 'keyed' the panniers following u-tube video instructions.
The OEM screen is terrible for wind noise irrespective of position so I've just bought a Givi screen that I'm looking forward to trying. Also waiting on a s/h OEM rack to make carrying a tail bag easier.
Last year I rode down through England & France to the Picos de Europa mountains in northern Spain (piccie attached), returning via Ireland. The roads in the Picos compare favourably with anywhere in Europe IMO. This year a trip to Austria and Slovenia beckons.

Welcome! When I think "NE Scotland", I think: Cold, wet. Is that accurate?

What made you decide to go to a Givi screen? I agree about the stock screen, but having owned 8 BMW's, I think every stock screen is deficient. I just ordered a VStream "Sport" screen, mostly because my black RS wants a tinted screen. The height is the same as stock, but differently configured. When I had an F800GT, I used a VStream sport screen on it, and it did improve the noise factor, so we'll see. I don't want to ruin the look of the bike with an extremely tall "touring" screen.

Yes, cold and wet sometimes but when the weather is good, the scenery and roads are fabulous. (When the wet part is snow, that is fun too.)

I chose the GIVI screen because two friends have one (R1200R & R1250RS) and like it, the angle of the screen compliments the headlight fairing angle and it does not look too tall, and its competively priced. I'm not yet quite happy with the fixing using OEM gromments and spacers. At least two of the holes are supplied ovalized to give some slack when fitting. I will need to add washers, I think. I will probably also cable tie the BMW flip-up mechanism tight as there is some slack in that, and I do not need to flip it up.
