Retrofit Daytime Running Light to a US bike?

I saw a thread where a user was going to try it, but he never let anyone know the outcome and hasn't logged on since Sept 2020. Any chance someone with a US bike has successfully retrofitted the front/center DRL? I know it would require a different center fairing piece, but that's no big deal, what I don't know is if there is an open plug on the main harness up front and if an ECU upgrade is required. 2016 BMW R1200RS |

It's all about safety and not cosmetic appeal for me.

It also seems that LED indicators (turn signals) are also generally illegal in US. Too bad for you guys.

The RS and R is the only ones I can think of with LED turn signals. I added the thin BMW LED turn signals to our R1200RSs but dealers in the US are no longer allowed to sell those or turn them on if you buy them from a overseas dealer. I was hopping our 2022 R1250RSs would be delivered with the latest style turn signals but no luck. I think the latest ones also double as running lights.

I hope it's possible. Would be nice to have some triangulation with the 2 denali lights the bike came with. I'm the knucklehead that leads the rides so I need to be as visible as possible. Yes we all wear hi viz vests over our leathers but the more visible we are the better.
