just looking for what size torx head is needed to remove the large central screw in the handlebar when removing it?

Yes that one. The large round one under the handlebar.

Not a torx, it's a 12mm hex bit you need.

I suppose it is really but I would suggest one of these puppies might be better if you need to torque it up again. What are you doing, adjusting the head bearings?

Basically the guy who got rid of the looseness in the header hasn´t put the bloody bars back on tight enough and now there is a looseness whilst driving over bumps etc. Nothing major but annoying. I just wanna tighten it a but more.

Funny you should say that. When we tried to remove it the first time, BMW had tightened it so much we needed a gun to get it off!
