Bike Run - 2nd August - East of Manchester into South and West Yorkshire

I am leading a bike run this Sunday around the upper Peak District and bits of West Yorkshire if anybody local wants to join in. Nominally it is an FJR Club Run but I am on an RS and, to my knowledge there are 3 members now riding GSs turning up!!

Start point is the McDonalds Restaurant, Mottram, SK14 3AU just off the eastern at the end of the M67 - Jct 4 and then just yards down the A560. There are petrol stations and loos to hand. Meet is 10:00 a.m for an 11:00 a.m. start and follows our usual format of circa 2 hours in the saddle, an hour for lunch and 1.5-2 hour afternoon riding. We ride using the 2nd man drop system.

If anybody is interested PM me for further details. I am trying to keep tabs on numbers for the lunch stop.

Wish I could join you, I lived in Mottram 30 years ago, my first home. However I’m enjoying some days in Wales so no possibility this weekend. Still great that invites for a meet-up such as this are proposed.

Hope you get better weather than I had going over Holme Moss last week! The cloud was at ground level. I was heading north, it was sunny after Holmfirth into Huddersfield.

Cracking couple of days out after that from a base near Gomersal into the Dales.

Wet again on the way home as I skirted around Manchester on the M60. Must be something about that lattitude!
