I rode a super scooter into the capital on a daily basis.. and was basically ignored by other 'proper' motorcyclists as well as car drivers, and other scooter riders who would take delight in squeezing to the front of a traffic queue and in front of me if I gave them an inch of space... I aways take time to nod or occasionally wave... in France and Spain long lines of riders going the other way.. always gave the dropped hand wave... and it feels nice.. in the absence of a visible smile in a full face helmet... the brotherhood is still alive... well, as long as you are not riding a scooter!

OK, you're a part-time scooter pilot. Let me ask a question. When one rides a motorcycle, you "grip" the vehicle with your knees and the handlebars. On a scooter, there's no tank to grip and the wheels are fairly small (less rotational inertia to stabilize the vehicle). So, isn't it kind of scary (i.e., unstable) to ride with only one hand on the bars on a scooter? Just asking a question.

scooters are riden in a very upright position... no weight on hands at all.. easy to ride one handed... I no longer own a scooter.. but rode one for 10 years into capital... very easy to ride... just not cool..

In my 100 mile loops On sunday I got 100% wave reciprocation!

I think all of us up here realized what a gift the weather was for us. lol

I may be stating the obvious, but the reason "the nod" is popular in Australia, UK (and I assume some other places) is that we drive on the left side of the road...

I like to wave if I'm not 'working' on the bike. Otherwise I'll nod. I've always waved a greeting back from when the fellowship was warmer and bikers were less split into factions/fashions.
