Car makers do similarly with tires...enjoy that quiet and smooth ride when you test drove the car? That’s likely because they used soft compound with a short life. Replace with decent tires and that will change.

The old tricks are the best tricks and everyone uses them. That said, I bought a new truck a couple years ago. I recently replaced the OEM tires after nearly 65k miles. I replaced them with the same tire, but in a slightly larger size, my front air dam would scrape the curb where I park at work, now it doesn't scrape. The new tires are just as quiet and more comfortable with slightly less steering feel. If I get the same wear out of these, I'll be very happy. |
