Computer Diagnostic as "Scheduled Maintenance" <- GS-911 Can Do?

I ran a quick search and found this thread: Service intervals (2)

... but my question remains. I'm confused by my scheduled maintenance regarding whether the (wireless) GS-911 can "perform" the computer diagnostic.

Or, is it more accurate to say that ME/MYSELF/I am the one who "performs" the diagnostic and the GS-911 will simply provide me with readings to consider?

If the latter, is there a link to what stats I should look for and what math/variables I want to get the values of?

The GS911 interrogates the computer and it is given the stored values BMW provided in its design.

The GS911 does not seem to allow you to change values, or "tune" any operating parameter. It reports fault codes and allows you to clear them.

It can work the ABS pump as part of a brake bleed. It also allows you to set you service reminder for date and mileage.

It is more a diagnostic tool than a repair / tuning tool.

There is no difference between wired and wireless wi fi operation. That only refers to the link between the tool plugged into the OBD II port and your computer or smartphone.

Your computer will really need internet access, but there is limited functionality if you cannot get internet on your computornbn cb77 bbbb bbb or phone.

I'd still like to know what I'm to do with regards to a "computer diagnostic". If there's no exploring the computer's format/behavior status, I fear it means $ at the dealership. Something I prefer avoiding at all costs (get it?)

First, I want to apologise for the gibberish at the end of my last post. I have no idea where it came from. The other gibberish is mine....

I have a habit of getting ready for the next maintenance item. The GS911 did not make sense vs its $$$, but I wanted to know and not be beholden to any dealer.

I spent a bit of money on tools for fork oil replacement and also made a holding tool only to "total" the Lupin. Those tools will now have to wait a long time before they are used.

Only 4 months ago I bought / modified a pneumatic platform bike lift, now it is unlikely it will be used for another year or more with the 1250 being under warranty.

Anyway, pulling the RS apart lets me understand it better and to marvel at how / why it is made.

I guess the cost of the full workshop manuals also falls into the same "money wasted" bucket.

Anyone need a Honda GL 1000 manual? Or a R1100S CD manual that needs an ancient OS to run?
