Any interest from Illinois lcoals in assembling somewhere for a low-key social event such as brunch in a semi-respectable greasy spoon? I plan to get out of the ratrace for a few weeks in spring/summer 2019 so I'll be in the Champaign area and would be willing to ride. Or are we just too cool to plan compulsively and would rather rely on chance encounters?

We are way too cool for straight-lining the flatlands....

Well, that's not true. I make it up to Springfield occasionally, where one of my wife's high school friends runs a new restaurant called Motorheads, just south of town on Toronto Rd. You can imagine, they attract a few bikes and cars on weekends. Nice museum. He hasn't thrown anything out in 60 years.

Keep me posted. Always up for coffee and eggs.

I think I'm volunteering to keep track of this. I'll let the thread run a few days and then look for a suitable date. Proximal to to Pecatonica would make sense. gc

Would Friday, April 26 work for everyone? Ray B. suggested Springfield- other suggestions? Is Saturday an option given Pecatonica happening on the same day?
